The Power of Real-Time Feedback
When dealing with paper rounding, identifying the timing of potential safety events was challenging for Tiffany Sanchez, the Assistant Director of Operations at All In Solutions Behavioral Health. Even with a video system, it was difficult to know exactly when a staff member had last checked on a patient.
“Prior to VisibleHand, we were completing safety checks on paper…it would kind of build up, and then [...] all of this stuff happened and I had no idea,” says Tiffany.
Previously, she spent large amounts of time sifting through binders of paper-based rounding documentation. She says that the introduction of VisibleHand at All In Solutions has been a game-changer.
“If a round is missed, I am notified, even if I’m not in the facility.”
When there is an investigation, Tiffany says she is easily able to coordinate the time of checks with video footage.
“VisibleHand has allowed us to hold the staff much more accountable…All we have to do is watch the cameras and sync up the time”
Paul Orleans, the Director of Operations at All In Solutions, says he uses VisibleHand’s weekly staff reports to identify staff members that may be falling behind.
"I'll go into the reports and really see, OK, is this staff member often coming up? And if it's a thing, then [we] go into the cameras and see why these non-proximity checks are coming up so often for that particular person."
Paul also highlights the ease with which staff are able to pick up VisibleHand’s system.
"Even people who are not great with technology seem to catch on fairly quickly,” says Paul. "Client safety has improved greatly due to it. The accountability of the staff has improved...it’s fantastic and very easy to use.”
